BENEFIT FOR JANBE: BRIDGES TO HAITI
bringing dance education to the children of Haiti
April 25th 6-8pm Beacon Hill

Dear Friends,
Please join us for an informational gathering for JANBE: Bridges to
Haiti, a Boston-based organization that offers intensive dance
workshops to young Haitian students every summer.

We are a year old not-for-profit organization and are raising funds to
support our month-long workshop this summer in Port-au-Prince (July
7th-August 3rd). All money raised will go to cover costs of the
program: the rental of studio space; the lunch program; the costs of
hiring musicians for the classes. No teacher receives any salary or
compensation. We teach modern dance techniques as well as traditional
Haitian dance, and were so successful last summer that JANBE's work
was featured prominently in the oldest Haitian newspaper, Le
Nouvelliste.

We hope you can come to this gathering at the Museum of
African-American History on Beacon Hill from 6-8PM on April 25, where
we will show video footage of our work last summer as we eat and drink
and answer your questions about our work in Haiti. The recommended
donation is a $50 minimum to attend the informational event. If you
cannot make it to the gathering, we hope you can make a contribution
in any amount.

If you are planning to attend, please RSVP so that we can send you
directions and parking information:

If you cannot make it and want to contribute: please make the check
payable to JANBE and mail it to 13 Highland Avenue #3, Roxbury, MA
02119.

We thank you very much for considering this request, and invite you to
visit our website for more information: www.janbe.org
All the best wishes,
Jean Appolon
