* Congo Square* is famous for its preservation of African musical and
cultural elements. The third in the monthly series, Boston Gro oves 4 NOLA
"Roots Run Deep Here"recognizes the influences of the African Diaspora and
its significance to the origins and evolution of New Orleans Jazz and Rhythm
and Blues, and all music today.
Designed to bridge communities through Arts & Culture, the *New Orleans
Women Artists Collective (NOWAC)*, through the generous support of the Milky
Way Lounge & Lanes, presents Boston Grooves 4 NOLA. NOWAC's mission is to
assist New Orleans women artists in their journey back home, by providing
them with the support and resources necessary to restore and move forward
through the encouragement of artists both within and beyond their
communities. As part of this non-profits mission, NOWAC is bringing a taste
of New Orleans to Boston to raise awareness and funds to support the
on-going need to restore and rebuild the New Orleans community.
*Boston Grooves 4 NOLA* infuses traditional rhythms, sounds and spoken word
of the Deep South with the funky grooves of neo-soul, jazz & blues from New
Orleans and beyond. Offering a dynamic blend of artistic talent from New
Orleans and the artistic community at large, Boston Groove 4 NOLA, like
jambalaya, has as a little somethin' for everyone.

Samba Lolo featuring Boubacar Diabate, West African Griot Music from Mali,
combined traditional rhythms with modern influences to create a unique style
of contemporary Malian Griot music. Singing in Bambara, Boubacar and Samba
Lolo create a performance that spans the full spectrum of Traditional to
Contemporary Malian music. Bouba sings of a common shared experience of
love, life and humanity, giving all an opportunity to hear the age-old West
African tradition of Griot storytelling through song intermingled with the
musicals accents of Jazz n' Blues and Reggae. For more information about

*About The Superpowers:*
The Superpowers is a 10-piece, 21st Century Dance Band. Voted Best World
Act in the Phoenix 2007 Best Music Poll and 2006 Boston Music Awards, The
Superpowers have been hailed by critics as a "poly-rhythmic juggernaut". In
June 2007, with the release of its debut album, REVIVAL TIME, the band
formally known as the Boston Afrobeat Society shed its Afrobeat cocoon and
moved forward with a NEW agenda – creating a Community wherein people across
the planet can unite in collective energy and dance to create positive
social change! For more information about The Superpowers visit
