Lacina Coulibaly will be at the Dance Complex in Cambridge
THIS SUNDAY, OCTOBER 21ST, 1:30-3:00pm teaching a unique blend of
traditional styles from his home country, Burkina Faso, West Africa &
European Modern techniques. In the US, Lacina's approach could be compared
to that of Ronald K. Brown or other artists who strive to develop a fusion
of  African Diaspora & Modern dance techniques and aesthetics. See details

Lacina Coulibaly* *is a dancer/Choreographer from Burkina Faso who has been
working for many years to develop his own style of dance that exists at the
intersection between the traditional styles of his home country, and the
expressions that emerge from the exploration of the self, and the techniques
of European modern dance. Co-founder of the Burkina Faso based dance
company, *Kongo Ba Teria*, Lacina challenges traditional boundaries and to
create new movement dialogues. Lacina was guest instructor at Brown
University in 2006 and is presently at Yale University.
