*Marc Bamuthi Joseph fuses hip-hop, spoken word and live music in **Scourge*
*, a powerful look at the history of his native Haiti*. Shining his
passionate light on questions of identity, cultural legacy and assimilation,
Bamuthi Joseph explores the narrow space between history, myth and
speculation. *Scourge* is a rich collaboration between Bamuthi Joseph and
renowned *Latin jazz composer John Santos, choreographers Rennie Harris and
Adia Whitaker, director Kamilah Forbes* and the emerging voices of three
young writers from San Francisco's Youth Speaks.

*FRIDAY*:  drum class 4:00-6:00pm   dance class: 6:30-9:00pm
*SATURDAY*:  drum class 12:00-2:00pm  Dance class 2:30-5:00pm
1 class- $30     2 or more classes- $25 each

*Reynaldo Gonzalez* is an experienced teacher of Cuban folkloric song, dance
and percussion.  He is dedicated to passing on music & dance as it has been
practiced for centuries.
*Johnny Scovel*  has more than twenty years of traditional drumming
experience.
His teaching style is dynamic, emotional and sincere, as he honors and
values the integrity of the traditions and cultures about which he teaches.


The passion and energy which Johnny and Reynaldo  bring to drumming and
dance make for a wonderful class experience!
