Please see the information below to take advantage of the visit to Brandeis
University
by the Amazones,
a women's drumming ensemble
from Guinea, West Africa
March 1-3, 2007.

The ensemble will engage with the public through many activities,
including a DRUMMING WORKSHOP that is FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC,
from 5:30 to 7:00pm on March 2.

Their stay concludes with a concert at Brandeis at 8pm on Saturday, March 3.

*Amazones, Women Master Drummers From Guinea,* come to Brandeis University
for the only New England stop on their US tour on* March 3 at 8 pm*. The
West African group's dancing and drumming has been called "a heavenly
outpouring of throbbing jubilation, forceful uplifting beats and pounding
enthusiasm" by Maximum Ink Music Magazine. Tickets are $20 general, $10
students and seniors, with discounts for groups and children. A
lecture byLansine Kaba, Brandeis professor of African American
studies, precedes the
