Dear African Dance & Drum Community,

Joh Camara is teaching
African Dance Classes at The Dance Complex
Sundays 3:00-4:30pm

The DC is excited to have Joh at the Complex and
happy to continue African dance in the weekly Sunday Slot.
This past Sunday was a great start - please spread the word so the
class can continue to grow!

$12/class, $6 for children up to 16 years of age.

Description: Students will learn a variety of West African Dances from Mali,
Guinea and Ivory Coast regions. Students will learn the cultural and
historical context for each dance. The class begins with a ½ hour warm-up,
and progresses to energetic dancing to live drumming (djembe and djun-djun).
Come experience one of the most skilled and enthusiastic master
dancers/teachers and one of the premier West African classes in terms of
energy. During class Joh tailors his teaching to accommodate all levels of
dancers. Class is accompanied by live percussion by African drum masters.
Clothing should be loose. Women may wear a lapa or sarong (cloth wrapped
around the hips) but it is not required, bare feet.
