Hello All -
I am pleased to announce that I'll be ceding my spot at the Middle East 
on Feb 8th to a wonderful musician from Haiti, Gifrants. Some of you 
have probably seen him in the subway performing, but he is a great 
talent and it will be a wonderful show. The updated schedule for LIVE 
African (and Diasporic!) music at the Middle East is below. See you there!

Dear Friends,
We are happy to announce that the Brazilian Cultural Center of New 
England has been granted the necessary approval from the City of 
Cambridge Zoning Board to go forth (continue) with the construction 
project started last winter.  Deraldo had a lawyer with him who made a 
very strong argument for the Center.  Even more impressive was the 
support from students, fans and members of the community.  When the 
Board asked who in the room was in favor of the project about 3/4 of 
those present threw their hands in the air.

Center when it is open!
