Afro-Colombian Dance Workshop Series:

Saturday, January 13th, 3:00-4:30pm,
Thursday, January 18th, 8:00-9:30pm,
& Saturday, January 20th, 3:00-4:30pm

COLOMBIAN FOLKLORIC DANCE includes a combination of African, European and
Indigenous rhythms, the historical mix of Colombians. Afro-Colombian dances
are the distinct traditions of Colombians of African heritage. Through these
art forms, the Afro-Colombian community has actively maintained the
traditions of West Africa that arrived in this part of the Americas during
the Trans-Atlantic slave trade. Each class will be focused on the movement
of these customs as well as a brief history of the dance, movements and
details of the customs. TO BRING: A long flowing skirt and bandana for women
and a bandana for men.

Workshop fees: $12.00/Class $30.00/Full Workshop.
