Hello everyone, there is lots going on, as usual. WADaBo is resuming
our popular Sunday workshops, although they will now all be at Be One
in Dudley Square. Come on out and dance in the new beautiful space.

1.	Aly Camara – Guinea Dance Workshop – Sunday, Feb 19
Aly is going to help us kick off the WADaBo Sundays on :

ALY CAMARA was born in Guinea's Boffa region, of the Baga People,
where the popular dances/rhythms of Sorsorne & KakiLambe originated.
He began dancing & drumming at age 6 and went on to learn and teach
the acrobatic street dances of Kamsar. In 1984 Aly was recruited into
Les Ballet Dougouffissa, a company whom Les Ballet Africans comes to
in order to learn tradition. Aly has performed with Ballet Variety,
Ballet Unite Africa and Les Ballets Bougarabou and has toured
throughout Africa, Canada and the US. He presently resides in New
Haven, CT and teaches at the School of African Rhythm and at Yale
University. He is the Founder and Artistic Director of Kouffin Kanake
dance company.

2.	Beginning Djembe Classes - Saturdays
Beginning Djembe Workshop
4 weeks on Saturdays, 2 – 3.30 pm
February 18 and 25, March 4 and 11
w/Grant Lash
$8/ class or $30 for all 4 classes
Location: Davis Square Drum Studios

Grant has been studying djembe and djundjun with Moussa Traore for 5
years and has just returned from 5 months studying in Mali, West
Africa with various master drummers in Bamako, Mali.
This class is intended for people who have never played djembe and
beginning/intermediate players who want to work on basic technique and
rhythms. All are welcome.

3.	Lacina Coulibaly – Contemporary African Workshops - Ongoing
Lacina, director and choreographer of the acclaimed La Compaigne Konga
Ba Teria from Burkina Faso, will be in Boston until May 2006 as the
result of his ongoing residency at Brown University in Providence, RI.
We will be hosting him in Boston so that Boston area dancers may get a
flavor of contemporary movement and dance in Africa.
Lacina's company, Kongo Ba Teria, are winners of the International
Sanga II Choreography Competition and have recently completed
residencies in Florida, California and several European countries.
